Review: Bausch + Lomb Lacelle Jewel

My contact lens journey started with Bausch + Lomb! Since my last post I used their daily lenses to provide you some tips for first-time contact lens users, this time I'm going to review their monthly lenses. Come on in to read my take on this lenses 😆

As I mentioned earlier, I tried their daily disposable lens (Lacelle Diamond) first and it was kind of 50-50 chances for me to reach for it again. Why? I felt it was a little bit big for my eyes to handle or maybe it was just a first timer glitch.

Lacelle Diamond Fun Fact: Cater for occasional user. This lens is suitable for those who is going for holiday because you don't need to bring solution!

Due to that, I was holding myself back to try another lens. Blame it on me because I was overthinking that it will hurt (yada-yada-yada) but it was not that bad for this second trial.

There are 7 colours to choose from this Lacelle Jewel range and I get to try two of them, Topaz Brown and Sapphire Blue. By the way, this is a monthly disposable lens. So make sure to used it within 1 month time only!

The moment I open the lens cap, I can see why they named it as Lacelle Jewel. It clearly does have that jewel pattern that will sparkle your eyes! *clear throat* Ehem ehem, but we need to know about their key features and benefits too, so here are the list:

  • Unique lens design for excellent lens fit which enhances the cosmetic effects.
  • Thin lens with center thickness of 0.078 mm permits great comfort.
  • Tried and tested lens material that reduces lens dehydration for excellent comfort.
  • Unique Jewel patterns which gives more depth and sparkle.

Now it's time to wear the lens, but before that make sure your hand is clean and follow the step by step process. You can refer to my post, here

When my hand and lenses are all cleaned, its time for a moment of silence. I pick up the lens very gently because it was really fragile to me. While I was holding it, I think that since the lens was ultra-thin, it supposed to give me a comfort feeling throughout the day.

Oh! Before I show you my photo wearing the lenses, you can find out which colour fits you with personality test and also how you would look like in different lens. Head down to to get Colour Quiz and Colour Matcher before purchasing the lenses!

It seems like it took me some time to write this post because I need to ensure that it is save for me and also for you out there who are keen to try wearing lenses. Especially if you are a first timer, make sure to consult with eye care practitioner for further lens wearing and care instructions.

Another thing is make sure to purchased a legit contact lens. It was a risk to purchase a non-brand contact lens especially this involving one of your important organ, eye. Please, make sure to bought from established optical company like Bausch + Lomb. At least, if anything happened, you know where to reach out.

Before and After wearing the lens!
To start with the review, the timeline that I wear this lens is around 3 hours. While, I wore it for 4 hours for the Lacelle Diamond. I know its not full 8 hours, but I think it's a fair amount of time to try since it involved your comfort.

If I want to be honest with you, it was slightly uncomfortable at first. My eyes gets runny once I put on the lens and it sting a little bit. I don't have a problem to insert this Lacelle Jewel lens because the size was a bit smaller than then Lacelle Diamond and it ensure a perfect fit. I do have a problem inserting the daily disposable because it quite big for my eyes.

By the way, based on the picture above you can clearly see the differences. My eyes is bigger and shine once I put on the lens. Without any makeup, I look really fresh and awake. So, if I want to wear this with bare face I know it would look good on me.

Along the way, I feel kind of cold breeze on my eyes. I'm guessing maybe it because of the Renu Fresh solution or the 38% content water inside the coloured lenses. Any who, all I wanted to say is I feel hydrate and it doesn't feel dry for 4 hours.

While I was wearing the lens, I used my laptop to do some work and throughout the hour, I didn't feel like I'm wearing any lenses. So, THUMBS UP! 👍 👏

The only downside is the colour. If you are looking for a pop colour, this lens may be not for you. Because once I put on the lenses, I noticed the colour is subtle and it doesn't attract to much attention. But maybe because I tried this at night but I assumed that the colour should be noticeable when there is a light.

Overall, I'm glad that nothing happened and mission accomplished! The only question is would I wear these lens again? Of course but only on special occasion. Eye contact is really important in engaging conversation and wearing this lens somehow boost my confident.

I received a bunch of contact lens products from Bausch + Lomb for me to try, and as a first timer I will be writing two post about their contact lens. One is tips, and the second one is where I will be reviewing their lenses.
