Althea Bare Essentials Review: I Used It For Almost A Month & Here Is What I Think

I always looking forward to Althea products especially after they launch the Petal Velvet Powder! When they came out with a new skincare line, I have to jump right on it. So, let's get started with the review, shall we? 😉

DISCLAIMER:
The product was sent to me for review purposes. I personally trying it out and the review is 100% my personal opinion. So, make sure to check the ingredients or consult before purchase 😉

First of all, thank you so much to Althea team for sending these lovely products that I have used for almost a month. I'm psych about it because I heard the toner can gently fill the gaps between pores and you all might not know but I do have big pores.

I sincerely write this based on my experience and insyaAllah will write every single detail (honest too) about it 😆

ABOUT THE BARE ESSENTIALS RANGE

There are 3 products in this range and it's pretty basic! Start with Contour Cleanser, Primer Water (act as toner) and also end with Fixer Cream (moisturiser). Why only this 3 products? They want to focus on skincare fundamentals and drops all the non-essentials, as other products are just additional steps.

Based on the research over 3 years, the most prominent fact is that a solid routine starts from 3 essentials steps: cleansing, toning and moisturising and that's how Althea's Bare Essentials is born!

THE CONTOUR CLEANSER

Contour Cleanser by Althea Bare Essentials

This is like my 6th or more cleanser that I tried out. So far it was okay, it doesn't give any irritation to my face at the first time. BTW,  make sure to watch my first impression through here

The cleanser name actually sparks some question why it was named as Contour Cleanser? Well, basically Althea said that it can help to promote blood circulation, reduces bloating and swelling for a defined, enviably skin face shape.

MY REVIEW THROUGHOUT THE TRY OUT

Althea Bare Essentials Contour Cleanser Curitan Aqalili
After using it, I felt that cold sensation!

First Week of March

The journey begins here when I received the packaging!  I've been following Althea Instagram for the Bare Essentials and I'm really looking forward to trying the skincare line.

When I used then consistently in the first week without mixing additional products except for sunscreen (sunscreen is really important), my skins feels a little bit dry, especially in the nose area.

Honestly, I'm quite stingy with the moisturiser. Can you imagine I was only scoping a pea size of the moisturiser for my whole face,  that's quite unacceptable.

So that's happened for a week and I'm changing the game a little bit for the second week.

Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water Curitan Aqalili
Toner is an important step, don't forget to tone your skin up!

Second Week Of March

I started to use more moisturiser on my face and my skin feels hydrated! During my first week, I decided to forget about the double cleansing and peel of my whiteheads (for review purpose).

My skin feels soft during the first week, especially after cleansing. Even though the cleanser contains microcapsules, I realised that I have to peel off and put extra care on the whiteheads (nothing is a miracle, need a hard work and dedication).

Althea Bare Essentials Fixer Cream Curitan Aqalili
My skin feels hydrated and looks plumply and ready to go barefaced!

Third & Fourth Week of March

On the last week of trying all the products, I feel braver to mixed with other skincare. So, I used a peel-off mask, vitamin c serum, peeling gel and cleansing oil through these weeks.

So far, I didn't face any skin irritation when mixing with other stuff. I think that's a good sign but maybe is just a pure luck.

Results after using Bare Essentials, I can notice some changes in my skin with just 3 products.
So, would I buy it again? Yeap, totally!
First, it’s good and suitable for all skin types.
Second, the skincare line is affordable as fudge! With all 3 products you can purchase at RM116, you can also get 10% off and free mirror when you buy all of them* T&C apply. Third, it smells earthy and when I put it on, I felt calm and relaxing.

That’s all for today post, I’m glad that I do a full month review of Bare Essentials. If you’re keen to try, head out to Althea’s website here. It works for me, maybe it may works for you too. Till then, ciao! 😉
